The dimensions of the new regional package centre of the post office in Countervail are enormous. In future, it will be possible to sort 8000 packages per hour in the 25 000 m² building, located directly on the Alpine Rhine. Bouygues Energies & Services in the south-east region realised the lots supply lines and sanitation systems.
Special requirements had to be allowed for from the outset for the new construction, which is located in an industrial and in part agricultural zone. For example, the plot is located in the approach corridor of the neighbouring Rega helicopter base. Furthermore, work along the supply line route demanded precise planning and execution. Together with the project managers and the regional authorities, re-engineering the project was undertaken in advance of the installation in order to optimise the services provided for and materials to be used - a challenge for the planners involved.
Thanks to the creative ideas of the sanitation department of the south-east Switzerland region, it was possible to execute these services faster, better and in higher technical quality as part of the optimisations. Much to the delight of the customer. For example, apart from an amended proposal regarding the material to be used for the supply lines, a recommendation was also made to divert a pre-existing old line route to enable the Untervaz community to benefit from it as well. The key to success in planning and implementation was in the direct cooperation with architects and planners directly after being awarded the order. But thorough work preparation and flexibility in phasing the work and continuity in the installation team contributed decisively to successful conclusion of the project as well.
